In this video, Fabrice Langlois explains the characteristics of each grape variety we use in Beaucastel and what each of them bring to the final blend.

Great video guys.
Very informative.
Thanks!

What are the names of the 13 varietals? Could you list them in the post? Thank you!

The red varietals are :
Mourvèdre
Grenache
Syrah
Counoise
Cinsault
Terret Noir
Muscardin
Vaccarèse

The White varietals are :
Roussanne
Bourboulenc
Clairette
Picpoul
Picardan

It is also authorized to use Grenache Blanc so actually there are 14 varietals if you count the 2 different colours of Grenache.

Amazing video Recent growth in the wine industry has cannibalized
some of the beer industry. While as a nation we could consume more, there is of course a limit. At that point growth of one industry will come at the expense of the other.Perhaps the point is, for most of us, there is a time to enjoy both.

I was in Anderson Valley last April and got a taste of the wines (some truly nice stuff) and the lingo.Seeing the lingo on the back label certainly would be an improvement over most of what passes for back label wine writing…
